School closures have become an unwanted and disheartening development in the Catholic School system. Catholic schools in Los Angeles have educated leaders in science, technology, business and every facet of human existence for over one hundred years.
The economic situation has prompted a frightening flight of students from Catholic schools over the past many years. Holy Name of Jesus School is clearly not immune to what is happening. We remain viable, but are determined to work more closely with our parish, our parents, our friends and our supporters to ensure we remain accessible for another one hundred years. We are proud of the valuable service we provide to our inner city families and students and we share this pride with generations of Holy Name of Jesus School alumni and our surrounding community.
As Catholics, and people of faith, this institution that continues to promote the values espoused and exemplified by Jesus Christ has survived because we have always responded in unity and proactively to every challenge before us. We at Holy Name of Jesus School believe our collective passion for education and our ability to improve the quality of lives of inner city students hasn’t changed but instead has become more necessary because of the times we are living in.
We ask for your involvement and support to help us raise funds necessary to welcome new students. We have developed a number of innovative programs to elevate our students to the highest levels of learning. We cannot do it alone. We absolutely need your help.
