Holy Name of Jesus School celebrates a former volunteer’s incredible achievement
When Aly Cedeno first walked through the gates of Holy Name of Jesus School, she wasn’t there as a student—she was there to serve. With a quiet smile and a big heart, Aly gave her time, energy, and love to the students of HNOJ during the summer of 2023. What many didn’t know at the time was that she was on the brink of something extraordinary.
Aly, short for Alexandra, was awarded a prestigious scholarship from the Ladies of Peter Claver. That honor opened the doors to the University of Southern California, where she now studies Occupational Therapy in one of the most competitive programs in the country—one of only twenty freshmen admitted nationwide.
But even with that kind of academic journey ahead of her, Aly never forgot where she started giving back. “Holy Name of Jesus is where I learned what it means to serve with love,” she says. “It’s a place full of heart—and I wanted to be part of that.”
